Really? Our turkeys would go straight in on there own at night. How odd. That's some mighty fine looking birds though. Lots of turkey meat to eat...lol.
Each of ours got up to about 50 lbs of meat.
Love the moon light in the background. Very nice. |

Good plan to eat them Lexi. Here's the life story of most. It makes you think about how the majority of these turkeys are treated before arriving on the supermarket shelf. Here are a few observations from the U.S. the worlds biggest turkey consumer. http://www.peta.org.uk/fa...ctsheetDisplay.asp?ID=220 Some UK figures
For 87% of people in the UK, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a traditional roast turkey. There are many more turkey cuts and joints than people are aware of - mince, turkey chunks, breast steak, escalopes, drumsticks, sausages, stir fry strips, burgers, bacon rashers and crown roasts...to name but a few. The average weight of a Christmas turkey is 5.5kg/12lb The final off put

thanks guys.
Interesting facts there Allan. We always used to buy free ranged turkey from local sources, i agree they are exspensive. Saying that these 4 eat an awful lot! Im not a mega fan of turkey but we just have it because its tradition and wouldnt be xmas without it. They are lovely aniamls to watch, they have a lot of character- alive that is! |
