Hey ladies!
I hope y'all are doing well. I found another nursing home closer to where I live so I'll be moving my mom Wednesday. She doesn't have much so it won't be too bad. Bell, the German potato salad I had in Germany and here (made by my german ex mother in law) its a warm salad. It mainly consists of sliced potatoes, vinegar, bacon, oinions and pepper. It's really quite good. I just never think of making it. I have to go get a paper ready for my husband to turn in at a meeting in the morning. Take care, Susan |

Yummy, sounds really good. Do you use ordinary brown vinegar - or a red wine? And do you just sprinkle it over - or cook bacon and onions in it?
Youngest son had day off school today as had a cold - he made a delicious Marble cake, all on his own, pretty good for a 12 year old. It was so nice eating something which I hadnt cooked! Good luck with the move Susan, sounds good as nearer home for you and your Mum. |

ooh the salad and cake sounds soo lush. I went to college today to glaze my ceramics but it wasn't ready to be glazed, so we went to the beach instead.
Another hot sunny day here in the UK for us- makes such a lovely change.
Deb: the pig just had quie a bad limp, it got worse and she stopped eating. We don't know what caused it, but the vet said it wasn't anything to worry about really, and she has deffo improved. Glad to hear youve found another nice home for your mum susan. Will be great for her. |

Lex - what beach did you go to? I took my Kiwi hubby to Bognor Regis - he could not get his head around the bizarre english name!! I told him it was named cause of King George, who went there for some sea air, and he said Bugger Bognor, cause it never cured him!! But the name Regis was after him as King! Brighton was my favorite though...for me its as if I am looking back at time through a telescope when I think of the english beaches - and I tell my boys thats the best ever fish and chips there (Kiwis cant understand why brits have vinegar and pickled onion on the f n c!!) |

We went to avon beach near christchurch, Dorset, it's like a bay beach, you can see the isle of wight soo close over the water and it has cute little beach
huts round the sand.
I have been to the place you mentioned, it's lovely, have lots of fossils there! Yes vinegar is great on fish and chips, not keen on pickled onions though. Im just revising today, ive recorded it all onto cd so im just listening to that right now. |

Well, today I had a paper due in both of my classes. First paper I have turned in, in a classroom setting in over 22 years! I had to learn how to learn again,
how to write in APA format again, how to concentrate to retain information in high doses again, AND follow directions and turn in the two papers!
Now that the hard part is out of the way, learning to learn all over again, I will have an easier go at it. So far I am getting a perfect score in each class with the discussion bits and the already turned in pieces. I just hope these two papers follow the same suit and then my confidence level will be back where it needs to be to excel at all of this. I feel smarter already! 
Susan, I am also glad you found a place for mom closer to you. She needs that contact with you even though it seems at times she doesn't know you or anything. |

Congrats on your daughter's graduation Paula! It's that time of year right now with all the ceremonies across the country.
Got my mom settled in at the new place. I don't know if she realized that she moved. Several people at the other nursing home were not happy that she was leaving. She always kept them laughing. You never know what she may say next. Today she was going on about whatever...I couldn't make out what she said. Then she looked at me and said "You aren't happy with your life are you?" Where did that come from??? I said "Sure I am fine." She just shrugged her shoulders and turned her head towards the t.v. I am going to start bringing her smoothies with protein mixes in it to try to up her caloric intake. She is down to 93.4 lbs. Her skin hangs off of her bones! I think learning is fun Deb. It took me awhile to get back in the groove when I was in college last year. I wish I had time to take more courses. One more day of work then I'm off on Saturday. I'm doing the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer walk Saturday morning, I'm walking with my fellow Sprouties. Susan |

I hope the smoothies help to boost your mom's body mass. It's so hard to watch them become so thin and frail. I think my mom was down to 80 some pounds
when she passed. Broke my heart to watch it happen. Well done you for doing the walk for charity! Those are so much fun. You always run into so many people you
haven't seen in a while and it is fun to catch up while doing something good for others.
Yes, school is becoming fun now that my apprehensions are easing up. One of my papers I turned in yesterday was graded already and I recieved a perfect score on it. I am soooooooooo relieved! LOL. It's been so long I was scared I might fail. One paper down, 4 1/2 years or so to go. Oh man.... HELP!!!!!!!!! LOL |

I havent got anything exciting to talk about, just been doing more revision, im shattered. Really want to go to bed and it's not even 9pm yet!! I think i will just sleep anyways, ive got 2 exams left, one tuesday morning an one thursday- then it is all over, free to do what i want for 3 months = yaaay!! |
