This is where we can say our daily hellos, give a little idea of what we have planned or already did with our days. Today, I finished up a website for the humane society. Went to a Board meeting that lasted three hours! Then I came home to an almost spotless house, made myself a sweet little candle lit dinner and now showed up online to wind down the end of my day. Well I spent my day choosing brilliant turquoise and scarlet colors for my best friends daughters bedroom - I am training to be a color consultant so its a great start (and the best thing was everyone loved the colors! We are just praying that it will rain - we are in Drought - land is parched, very little feed for stock and the news just says our rivers are drying up - scary thought water is just so precious. Now have just finished sausages and home made tomato sauce for supper! ! Everyone liked the tomatoes!!

Hen Posts: 685 21/01/2008 08:41:21 Hen	Well it's way past my bedtime, but I can't sleep cause my neck is hurting(old injury that will never heal). hopefully the meds will kick in soon. I didn't do to much today, I had the day off, but it's really cold. mostly the domestic, wife, like duties, and I watched the Movie "Wild Hogs". funny and entertaining for anyone that hasn't seen it. Bell I worry about the Droughts we have been haveing, we didn't get hit here as bad as other places, but we are all hurt by them. I pray that you will get rain soon.

Well Loved Chook Posts: 6330 21/01/2008 17:17:21 Top Hen	No rain, only snow, more snow, all it does is snow, tired of shovelling off foot paths. Luckily the over night snow isn't that much, so if I leave it and the sun comes out, I just might get out of shovelling...well, that's the plan at least. Busy day here today. I have work of course, then rush home to feed dogs and cats, then a meeting at 6pm for being an independent consultant for completely all natural beauty supplements. I would only join just so that I can get a discount on my items...lol. Right after that, into another community meeting for a change in land use zoning in our area. Tomorrow is just as full. End of year prep for the farm, etc. with Don after work. Last night I decided to pamper myself a bit. I made myself a sweet little dinner, set the table with my china, lit candles, turned on music, and enjoyed my dinner. Almost opened a bottle of wine, but I was already knackered, so it would have just made me fall asleep right there with my face in my plate. LOL! Well Loved Chook Posts: 1983 21/01/2008 21:57:54 Forum Host	you can all have some of our rain.. meh!! well my head hurts at the moment and im sooo tired, we got stuck in a massive traffic jam on the bus on the way home from college. i have some news about a different house, as now 2 house sales have fallen through, 3rd time lucky maybe.. well its a lovely farmhouse with around 10 ish acres (the land is still being discussed!) and even a river.. so fingers crossed this time! xxx

I just wish it would rain and looking out the window the sky is just a hot grey silver color - temps in the 90s - and the lawn is parched and yellow, the ducks fed up and hungry! Storms with gales of 120k with hot winds forecast so spent last night tieying all the little fruit trees we planted in the new orchard so the winds dont rip them up. My shirt is sticking to my back in the chair and the cats are meowing for their lunch (elderly cat and black Maria kitty) so I have a hot oven of baked fish for them cause its all theywill eat - I just cant be bothered to feed the children as well - poor boys!! Its so nice being able to hear what the rest of you are doing. Theresa - what are you knitting? !! I tried to take my tapestry out last night but kittens and wool just dont mix and was too hot for wool anyway!!! Bye for nowx

I will post the info in a separate thread. The other meeting was a land use meeting. I can't comment, I am too worked up, confused and speechless. Government is brainless. And how can I make sense of madness??? Drinking my hot cocoa now. Outside temps of 13F, factor in the wind chill and we are at about -6F. (I don't know if I want your heat Bell or my cold...think somewhere in the middle would be really nice at this point in time.) I am trying to wind down enough to fall asleep now. Day has been taken up with the children as its still long summer holidays l0 weeks they have - but only 10 days to go and back to a new school year. I cant wait to get to bed with my book - have been feeling very weary today the sun and heat take it out on everyone - yes Deb its hard to choose between hot and cold isnt it!! So I hope everyone will enjoy their day while we sleep here downunder!!!

I am supposed to be at work today but they sent me home after I burst into tears for no reason. I think three hours on my feet took it's toll. I feel like I am on the mend though - which is the main thing! I've got some ladies laying eggs again for me which is great ! although the poor dears are swimming in mud for the most part as the rain is just not escaping from the saturated land. Oh and just to top things off nicely - I woke up to the river just lapping the wheels of my car this morning. (A bit too scary!!) Maybe that is why you are only getting a light rain. Sweet dreams. Theresa, I think it is great that you can knit at all. I would like to learn sometime. Debs, sorry you still aren't better. I hope it passes now after this. I remember when I was there and there was just a normal rain and the river was taking over the road in front of your house. Yes, that is scary to see so much water so close! Me, just freezing my arse off here. I am hoping that this cold snap will break soon...but long term forecasts show that there isn't going to be relief until we are well into February. Not sure how I am going to be able to afford my heating bills at this rate. Another day of work and meetings, and then I will have a life again sort of. O.K. quick recap of yesterday...went to work then slipped out of the office to run to the nursing home. Got my mom up, fixed her hair then took her into the lunch room. She was cold, as usual, so I got her hot tea and crackers while she waited for lunch. She wasn't feeling so great. Went back to work for afew hours then left to pick up Pepper at the Vet. He had his teeth cleaned. Good thing I took him in, he has some infection in his gums AND ear infection in both ears... He wasn't even showing signs of any discomfort. Then we get home and all 9 of the girls laid an egg for us! Today I went to the nursing home first because my mom had an appointment to get her hair cut. She is feeling alittle better today. In the course of one hour she told me, I looked good today, I looked large, and I looked old! Never know what she is going to say! I'm at the office now. Got to get some paper work done. Part of the cold front from Canada has moved in. Should be done in the 20's tonight. We need some rain but it is keeping north of us. Talk to y'all later. Susan

Well Loved Chook Posts: 1355 23/01/2008 02:49:15 Broody	Well I am sucking aniseed balls cause I have a real weakness for them - and I know I will have to go to the dentist soon and my god I loathe dentists! Spent the morning buying new school uniform and stationary for the boys, who argued non stop in the car, took them for a chocolate milkshake and coffee for me (which my youngest decided he liked better than the milkshake) - rushed round the supermarket - back into car - forgot esssential like milk, back to market again - had a bad night with little sleep cause the cats decided to sleep with us - 2am one cat out the window - came back in - 3am had to shut windows cause more cats decided to copy first cat and come and see us - it got hot - then cold again - woke up late - hubby late for work - now its after lunch and boys watching TV and I am going to shut myself in a cat free room and read paper. Still no rain and am fed up looking at vast expanse of what was once a blue/green pond and now a hole of yellow sand,mud,and waterless blot of the landscape. However some lovely birds called Stilts black and white with pink legs, have come to visit us cause they are looking for food at the muddy bits. Lex - I will really really keep my fingers crossed for the new house!

The lush pics you have posted of it in the past makes it seem almost unreal that it is no more. Do you have a kiddy wading pool at least, for the ducks and geese to get a little bit of water to clean themselves with? Still bitterly cold here. It is -12F, with a feels like of about -20F. This is unreal. It's the coldest, snowiest winter I have seen here since we moved here in 2000. I wonder if that means our coming summer will be the hottest also. Off to work today. No extra meetings afterwards finally. Need to do a bit of paperwork tonight and then I can just kick back and relax infront of a roaring fire.
