I wish you much luck in the job you applied for. If I can't have mine, they you should at least have yours, right? Someday I would just like to learn HOW
to knit. There is a yarn shop downtown, I wonder if they offer beginner's classes. Have a good rest and a good day at work tomorrow. I have been working
part time for my girlfriend. She owns a boarding/grooming/training facility and then a coffee hut out in the parking lot. I have been working in the coffee hut
for a couple weeks now. Today I did all morning in the kennels and then the afternoon was spent in the coffee hut. Tomorrow morning I have kennel duty again. I
usually don't help in the kennels except on holidays when they have lots of boarders.

Well here I am in dark winter - its been raining non stop for 4 days now and no color at all out there just grey and brown landscape. Dark in the mornings and
now its dark late afternoon - have eaten far far too much, as I cook huge roast meals for the boys, treacle puddings, roasted veggies, hot lentil soups with
home made crusty bread - its doing me no good!!! But the men love it!
Cats all fast asleep in front of the fire. Deb, you are doing such a wonderful duty with the animals, and I am sure you meet lots of good people with that. ******** that other lot, not worth even thinking about if they treat you that way! |

Hope you get sunshine soon Bell.
Weve had such lovely weather the past weekend- around 20-25 degrees c during the day, which is pretty warm compared to the usual miserable weather here. Ive had my best friend staying over the last couple of days, we went to the beach etc. which was lovely. Our pigs came home yesterday, 2 pregnant sows and the 2 new weaners- they are quite shy but sooo adorable. As for leaving college Deb, thanks for your lovely message as always, im not really sure how i feel about it, at the moment it kinda just feels like im on holiday- it hasn't sunk in that i will never go back for lessons, maybe it will after exams. |

Got the dreaded phone call this morning. I didn't get chosen. But get this...neither did the other candidate! The team didn't chose either of us! They
have opened it up for more applications and interviews. Do you believe that? I don't get it. I was the top candidate (per this morning's phone call)
and the head person really wanted me. So, rather than taking one of the top two available candidates out there, they are going to chose from someone with less
experience, etc.
I'm SO confused. |

I am attempting to get over the bewilderment and frustration over that job. Jumping head first into school right now is helping me do that a lot. Boring
classes this term, but next term I get my first psych class. YAY

Deb - the more one is occupied doing somethng useful - you will soon get over those awful people who let you down.
Lovely sunny day today - all morning watching sport with my boys - then home again and hot meals (casserole with onions, carrots, parsnip, herbs!0 and treacle pud to make now. The light goes fast now in the arvo so must get chores done before the sun sets which I watch sometimes at 5.00pm as it goes behind the mountain. Chooks to feed (hot mash now in the mornings) and too much to do when I would like to be sitting down reading the paper! |

Awww, you spoil your family and your chooks so, Bell.
I see the ad for the job is back up. I almost want to put in another resume. But that might be going over the edge. I found another job listing with the state police to try for. Will work on that this weekend, in between studying for my final in this goofy class that is required for all new online students. It teaches you how to navigate a website and post threaded discussions. Hmmmmm, I don't know if I am gonna pass this one.

good luck for this other job youve applied for Deb.
Another lovely sunny day here in England, we had our final sheep give birth to a healthy little girl around lunchtime. I have been outside revising, have got quite a lot done but also a long way to go. I also spent ages carrying buckets of water to fill the pigs wallow up, it is so lovely seeing them roll in the mud and sitting in it. Unfortunately one of our adult pigs has a bit of a limp, so we are hoping she will get better. I don't really have much other news, except that my sister is coming home tomorrow for the day and night as it is her birthday- we are going shopping during the day with her other friends here back home and then out for a family meal in the evening which should be nice. |

Bell, the State Police job is an office job. I wouldn't need to take the physical exam for high risk confrontations. I would be back behind a secured area
where there would be others around to 'do the dirty work'....lol. But, upon reading the description of that job a bit more, it seems they are only
looking for applications to put on file in the event of an opening. "Fishing" for qualified applicants. Which means there isn't an open position
and probably won't be. They are just required to have so many current applicants on file in the event of. I don't think I am going to go through all
that to just be put in a file indefinately.
Sounds like you will have a pleasant couple of days with your sis at least Lex. Sometimes a quiet existance in life can be very comforting and just 'what the doctor ordered'. Enjoy the simple bliss for what it is, sometimes it ends up being the calm before the storm and you wished you had enjoyed it more while you had it.

Oh Alexa - I have a lovely picture of you in sunny Engl;and with all your animals...make the most of all that as time passes so very fast. Yes Deb all sounds a
bit complicated - a better job will turn up soon I am sure for you,
Got caught in a hailstorm this arvo - dogs desparetly needed a walk causewe have been cooped up all day - so bundled clothes boots lead etc etc and set off along the riverbank - the storm just came up out of nowhere - and to make matters even worse my JR Holly behaved so badly cause she saw another dog and would not come when I was yelling at her (the other dogs owner put HER dog on a lead) naughty Holly just was sooo disobedient - isnt it embarrasing when they just take off and dont come when called! Other lady was very nice though. Came home wet and cold! AND, you cant swear at your dog in front of another owner either ! I felt like saying come here you ******** ####### !!! But of course didnt.! |

aww poor you Bell, i hate it when dogs decide to be naughty.
Im off to meet my sister in a couple of hours for a bit of shopping, just got up and let all the animals out and fed them all. One of our pregnant pigs seems to have a limp, and it was worse this morning, i really hope she gets better, we aren't sure why it has happened. Im just gonna put a couple of pics up for you all of my last day at college- sorry its not animal related, more me and my friends!! Will try and find some animal ones, or atleast take some of our animals for you soon. xx |

Awww, LOL Bell. Sorry to giggle, but only someone who has been there / done that would find the humor in the situation. Yes, I too have wanted to strangle my
dogs / beat them within and inch of their life / curse like the devil had possessed me.... but, like you said, you can't. Which is probably good for the
dog's longevity...LOL.
Lex, I loved your pics and it's fine to not post of animals and just of your current life. This is a board about the 'keeper' of the animals, so you count too...lol. It's a beautiful Sunday morning here. Unfortunately not heading off to church though as I have a slight fever, nasty goobery cough, etc. So, rather than infect a large group of people, I will stay home and prepare for tomorrow's classes to start. Set up my lounge chair outside, have a little catch all table next to it, will put shorts and a tank top on, rub in a little tanning lotion, grab my binders that have stuff for school and just go out and read and sip on a nice cool drink. Have a good day all! |

Aw Deb, you should have heard accross the earthwaves what I said to the dogs after the lady had gone into the distance!!!!
Hope you had a good Sunday - now its dark cold Monday night here - we had a public holiday and it feels gloomy as hubby has taken oldest son back to school - but he looks forward to going back and catching up with his mates, also working hard for exams and studying Stalin of all people ut its all interesting history. Had a lovely day up in the hills, hot soup for lunch looking at the snow top mountains - lots of snow now in the backblocks. Hope you are all well and everyones animals are behaving!! (It was so sweet tonight, cause I have a bag of aniseed bals by the puter (Im addicted to them) well I went out of the room, heard this rustling noise, and Maria (black Puss) had very carefully taken the aniseed ball sweeties bag in her mouth and carried them into the hallway! She then tried to open them, got one, and spent all evening banging this little ball around the wooden skirting boards! bLoves anisissed obviously! |

sounds like you've had a nice time. Bless your little cat being naughty!!
Ive been doing some revision this morning, finished all the subjects for this exam, so just gotta remember it now. I also filled up the piglets water for the wallow, they then pee'd in it and rolled, disgusting creatures! Our pregnant pig that has had a bit of a limp the past few days and the vet gave us some medicine and she seems so much better which is great :) it's too hot for them really, they just sit in the house of in the wallow all day bless them. Had a lovely meal out for Maddie's (my sister) birthday with the family, lots of laughing. I was shattered last night and seemed to sleep for about 10 hours, forced myself to get up this morning. hope everyones having/had (depending on your time zone) a nice day. xx |

Had a really nice first part of the day here. Yesterday I finished my Student Orientation class, which is a silly one I know, but...it still has to be done. It
was good practice for getting back into the swing of things. It's been over 22 years since I was in a 'classroom'. Anyways, I turned in all the
assignments for it and took the final yesterday. I PROMISE I did NOT cheat at all, even though you could have it be an open book if you wanted it as the grade
doesn't really count. But I chose to do it on the up and up for practice. I managed an A. Whooo hoooo. I am starting out on the right foot.
Today was the first day of real classes and since I had worked ahead, I really had nothing to do. I logged in and read the new messages, but that was about it. So, I decided to figure out how to keep the neighbor's dogs from charging the fence at our dogs. I went and bought a canvas tarp and wire tied it to the fence that whole length. Ahhhhhhhh peace and quiet for studying now. Then I became 'Bell' and put myself in the kitchen. I made german potato salad and an apple pie. Snapped some green beans and have them in the steamer ready to start, then got the grill set up so that I can grill out the steaks I got this morning. They are tenderized beyond recognition, rolled up into a circle, and wrapped in bacon for flavor and so they don't get too dry. I am making an au jus to go with it just in case. Glad to hear the pig is walking better. What was wrong with her? Bell, your cat sounds adorable with the candy. |
