Oh Bell, I don't think you are stupid at all. Internet based learning is a newer technology that a lot of people don't understand yet. They think it is easier, because you don't have a teacher/instructor there watching you so you could cheat on tests and such. Actually, quizzes may be set up as multiple choice, but the actual 'exam' is in a completed writting that you submit. It takes more drive, determination and motivation to succeed in online school than in a brick and mortar school, as you are the only one to make it happen. not myself in a hundred years. I just hope that this will lead to something good for you.
For once a lovely winter day here today. Sun shining and pure blue skies - went up to the farm and met the neighbors - what nice "farmy" people and one had a gorgeous black piglet as a pet - just pottering around her front door. The others are a very young couple with a new baby and a little girl (cannot see her on a motorbike lol!!) and he was a decent sort who one could go to if in need of a hand. It really makes life easier if you have decent people around you. As soon as we came back here we saw the awful neighbor who just totally ignored us!!! Hee Hee, they will think all their wishes come true when we leave...! Hens are not laying cause its too cold. Mr Rooster is a bully too, as he wont let a certain hen have her food! Isnt it quiet here, I miss Lex and everyone, but I suppose we all have to move on sometime. Now to bake yams for dinner! Hope your sun over in the US is warm and sunny for you! |

Hi Lex, glad to see your still having fun and enjoying life. When do you leave for Spain?
Bell, I know, it is super quiet here. I am getting ready to just close it down and let it go actually. Unless you would like to take over the reigns of it and keep it open? Seems kind of sad though really, as then the last of us will lose touch with each other also, and I guess I am just not willing to let that happen. Difficult decisions. Glad you are going to be super happy at the new place. Let the old neighbors think what they may...you are coming out way ahead in this compared to them. My only hope (and it is a sad, sick and twisted one at that) is that the new family that buys your place, have a kid about their kid's age and have him be totally bad and misleading to their kids, so that they get a taste of what a bad neighbor feels like. Sad part is, the new ones will have to be so much more worse than them for them to even see it. Okies, I'm off to work. This working 7 days a week is getting very old really fast. I can't keep it up AND school at the same time. I'm not as young and resilient as our Lex is...lol. |

Ha Ha Deb - you took the words right outta my mouth!!!! Yes I am hoping that the new people who buy our place have fast cars that zoom down the driveway past
the neighbors house, (she actually had the audacity to wave down our friends who were helping us to move in on day one and say they were going too fast
(rubbish) and I also hope they have loud parties,and annoying children!!!! Actually motorbikes too, so they can get a taste of their own medicine.
Yes very sad about the forum...I wont volunteer to take over cause I would not have the first idea how to go about it, and would get into a total muddle. Hopefully we can email each other sometimes to have a "chat". I suppose all good things come to an end...the most enjoyable moment I had was on the Christmas quiz several years ago on xmas eve, I think Debs got to track down santa over the globe - anyway it was such fun, and my boys remember it too as we all got round the puter trying to answer the questions!! Must go down to the shop to get more food, its sunday morning and quite early still so peaceful. Lex - do let us know when you leave for spain!!! |

LOL Bell, you have an evil twin deep inside of you.
I have lots and lots of wonderful memories with this board and it's members. Some a little bittersweet. There has been lots of love, new friendships, and even lost loves. I pray everyone is doing well and have found their own happiness. I leave in an hour for another interview. This time it is with Animal Control. Hope it works out. Would really like to get back to full time work again...with benefits. |

Went to the interview. It went good I guess...very relaxed as I have known the person who is doing the hiring for over 7 years. That doesn't make it any
easier on getting the job though unfortunately. So, now I get to sit and wait another week or so. Sigh.

Im good thanks everyone, my friend conor went home yesterday, but im seeing him tomorrow for his birthday and then off to stay at his for a party this weekend. I just really enjoying the freedom of the holidays. I leave for spain on 1st august, really excited about it!! I don't know what to do about the forum Lex. It could stay as is, quietly surviving in its own little corner on the net. It could just be closed down, all
information gone forever. Or, it could be closed to new posts but leave the resource areas up for viewing. It doesn't take any work to have it up, just
money to keep it ad free.
Which option do you think I should take with our little feathered home on the net? (open to everyones suggestion.) Maybe I should post a poll for those that come to read but not post? |

Hi Deb...yes its a hard decision. I feel that maybe, some of us dont want to keep in touch, otherwise they would post etc. I would feel very sad if it was
closed, but its sad when one comes to the forum and no one around. I would miss it very much - but you know as they say...all good things come to an end...and
I guess its just the end of an era. I would love to keep in touch with you and Lex, dont have facebook but you can email, and I would look forward to that.

maybe if it is consolidated a bit.....that's what happened at another board I check in on...
I'd hate to see it go to, I know I don't always post as much as I read.... but it would be sad to see it gone...

Well, I found out today that I didn't get the animal control job... AND ...I was given notice at my current job that it is going away.
It has been a 'lovely' day all in all...don't you think?

Thanks Paula. I feel a bit numb to it all right now still. The fact that my unemployment benefits are about to run out (as my current job was only part time)
and I can't even get welfare as I do not have a dependant child, increases the level of frustration.

Aww Deb im so sorry to hear about the job situation- thinking of you here.
Im at home at the moment- it's the 2nd day in about a month ive been alone without any friends staying over/me at theirs, i went out on a walk with a friend and her dog in the forest and we got lost, but it was a lovely walk. The weather is miserable, which gets to me a bit and ive got a sore throat/cold. Im hoping it will pass as i go to Spain in 10 days- im extremely excited! I may have also found girl from England who is doing an Au pair job in the same village, so if we meet that would be nice. Take care everyone, hope your families and animals are well. xxxx |
